The various 687 EELL models are expensive, premium-grade shotguns with highly engraved side-plates and select walnut stocks. At the other end of the scale, the 686 Silver Pigeon 1 stands as Beretta's modestly priced entry-level over/under. The 12-gauge Silver Pigeon is offered in three versions - Field, Sporter and Sporting Vittoria. What's New Similar to modern shotgun models from Beretta, the 686 silver pigeon comes equipped with a Mobil-choke system within its barrel. This particular mechanism allows for faster and more accurate shots using your 686 guns. The gun's design allows for the shooter to select which barrel to shoot first as there are two of them: one on top of the other The Beretta Silver Pigeon is a double-barreled shotgun. It is an over and under gun, with one barrel above the other. It is most often used for hunting birds and for clay target games such as trap and skeet. There are several models in field and sporting, for example 682, 686, and 687, with different features and finishes, and in various gauges The Essential, as said, is a plain gun, but mechanically same as the 686 Pigeons. The Onyx has a plain receiver, which is finished matte black, as are the barrels. The 686 Silver Pigeon 1 has a coin engraved receiver and polished blue / black barrels. The 686 comes in a higher grades, and comes in a sporting stock, sort of like the 682 The Silver Pigeon S has a gloss finish stock, the II, and III have an oil finish. The S has scroll engraving on the reciever, the II a pair of gamebird scenes, the III much finer detailed gamebird scenes. The III also upgrades to a gel-tec recoil pad and truglo sight. on each side of the gun. The main technical upgrade is the use of Steelium barrels and HP Optima chokes. It is proof-stamped with the fleur-de-lis, showing it can use steel shot, and the gun comes with a plastic case for the chokes and key. New Beretta Silver Pigeon 1 For over/under shotguns, Silver grade is used to designate the standard 686 and 687 models with silver receivers. Gold grade designates the higher grade 686EL and 687EL models with full sideplates. Diamond grade designates the higher grade 687EELL models that feature the highest grade wood and engraving
